Franklin, Tennessee has earned many nick names over the years. “America’s favorite Main Street” and “Best Small Town in Tennessee” to name a couple. It seems there are pockets of people in the United States that are catching on to the lure of this idyllic town as the population has grown more than 500% since 1980. The friendly citizens of Franklin love meeting new people and enjoy sharing their humble city with visitors. Popular careers for Franklin are in the medical, entertainment and non-profit industries.With Nashville only a hop, skip and jump away it is also a great home to retreat to after a busy day or week in the city or on the road.
There is ALWAYS something going on in Franklin. This picturesque small town hosts many festivals including the Main Street Festival, Wine down Main, Pumpkinfest, Dickens of a Christmas, and Westhaven Porchfest to name a few of the prominent ones. Every fourth Friday the Franklin Art Scene takes center stage downtown.
Save a day for Main street where you will find some local eateries (and a couple chains), local gift shops, retail clothing, salons, antique shops, art galleries and the favorite Historic Franklin Theater. Oftentimes you will find a local artist that sells miniature reindeer he carves out of sticks. Don’t be surprised to see the younger set showing off their musical talent on the sidewalks as well.
Some popular Franklin Neighborhoods (besides downtown,) are Westhaven, Franklin Green, McKay’s Mill, Cottonwood, Fieldstone farms, Sullivan Farms, Legend’s Ridge and Laurelbrook. All of which boast great schools in both the Williamson County School and Franklin Special School Districts.
